Performers across 6 continents will take part in International Busking Day 2019 – from Sydney to Reyjkavik, Tokyo to Rio. Public spaces will be filled with music, magic, comedy, physical theatre, living statues and dance.

    ​Hattie Briggs is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, originally from Chichester but currently based in London. An independent artist and regular busker at Network Rail stations, she was fortunate enough to be discovered by platinum-selling singer, Alfie Boe, who was stopped in his tracks by her pure vocal while she was busking at Paddington Station in October 2018. She was personally invited by him to open all 21 shows on his recent UK tour, the finale of which was at the Royal Albert Hall on April 17th 2019, after which she and her band received a standing ovation.

    Lucy May Walker is a folk-pop Singer/Songwriter originally from Worcestershire, now based in London. Her EP, Heartbreak Songs, reached no. 3 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart, receiving numerous plays on BBC Introducing across the Midlands. The title track, Heartbreak Song, was played on Jeremy Vine’s BBC Radio 2 show after he spotted her busking in London. Lucy was also invited to perform two original songs live on his show in October 2018. Lucy May has sold out numerous headline shows in both Birmingham & London and has supported the likes of The Dunwells, Lucy Spraggan and Wet Wet Wet. She is currently writing and recording new material which she plans to release later this year.

    Josh is a 17-year-old Folk/Rock singer-songwriter from Essex, currently studying music at The Brit School. He self-released his Debut EP ‘Stuck’ in May 2017 and has recently won ‘GIGS Big Busk’ competition. On Josh’s adventure to Nashville in March 2017, reaching out to a wider audience, he performed at some iconic venues such as The Bluebird Cafe and Douglas Corner. Inspired by songwriting with some hit writers in Nashville Josh is constantly expanding himself as an artist, writing towards an album he hopes to release next year.

    In 2009 Dan became the first person in the world to keep a ball in the air for 24 hours without dropping it. This amazing feat was followed a few months later by a gruelling 36 mile walk across London in January 2010, keeping a football up the whole time. In June 2010 he extended his 24 hour record by 2 whole hours, raising the bar for other freestylers to strive towards.
