Holi: bringing colour to Wembley Park

Wembley Park welcomed the Holi Festival of Colours on Saturday 13 August for another vibrant, colourful and fun-filled day. Thousands of festival goers, dressed in white, got covered in vibrant colour as they made rainbows of powdered paint in synchronised spectacular displays.

The event takes loose inspiration from the Indian festival of ‘Holi, which is one of the oldest festivals in the world and celebrates the start of spring. The essential ritual is the throwing of coloured water and powders on friends and family resulting in mesmerising hues of blues, yellows, magentas, greens and violets in the streets of India.

Wembley Park brought the celebration to the UK in style as the site was transformed with bars, food stalls and rides either side of the main paint party area.

The music consisted of different DJ sets, and the crowd loved the beats and got energetically messy. The sunshine added to the sense of optimism.
