The London Mayor visits Wembley Park

On Thursday 18 August, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, visited Wembley Park to take a look at the regeneration of the neighbourhood first hand.

Hosted by Angus Dodd, CEO of Quintain, as well as a number of other senior politicians, the Mayor was taken on a tour of the Tipi apartments before taking a walk along Olympic Way to discuss the wider development taking place at Wembley Park. After the tour, the group went over to the Civic Centre to review the Wembley Park masterplan model.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “Getting to grips with the legacy I inherited from previous mayors – and the fact fewer affordable homes were funded last year than since records began – means fixing London’s housing crisis will take time. It is crucial we get on with building the genuinely affordable homes our city needs. It was great to meet residents moving into this new neighbourhood in South Kilburn today and encouraging seeing boroughs like Brent pushing their housebuilding targets and providing more affordable homes for Londoners to buy and rent.

Angus Dodd said: “We are delighted to host London’s Mayor, Sadiq Khan, at Wembley Park today and have the opportunity to share with him our plans to create a vibrant new neighbourhood in North West London.”
