Our Definitive Family Fun Guide for International Busking Day 2019
It’s back and better than ever! International Busking Day is returning to Wembley Park this summer for the world’s largest celebration of street performance and art.
The super popular event will be taking place this Saturday 20th July and we have some of the world’s most amazing acts performing across five stages all day. And it’s not just singers and musicians. No, no. We have everything from footballer freestylers to hula hoppers – oh, and a couple of human hedges!
What’s even better is that this completely FREE all day festival is super family friendly. Yep, we have plenty of fun activities for families, acts and things to do that will entertain your little tikes all day!
If you’re already heading to the busking fest with your children and need some inspiration OR you still need some convincing, we have the definitive guide to family friendly fun at the 2019 International Busking Day.
Yep. You read that right. We have the fantastic Human Hedges roaming around Wembley Park all day. The outrageous and quirky duo of living topiary will be wandering talking and cuddling their way through the day. An all crowd favourite (no matter what age you are!) the cheeky trees can be spotted anywhere across Wembley Park during International Busking Day – make sure you say hello!
Making everything from hats to animals, the roaming balloon artist, Ine Twist, is a balloon sculpture extraordinaire. And when we say balloon sculptures, we mean it. The children’s entertainer and magician creates far more than the standard balloon art – you won’t believe your eyes! Her creations are all FREE, so if you see her make sure you pop over for some mind-blowing art.
ALL WEATHER PLAY PARK
Come rain. Come shine. At Wembley Park we have an all-weather adventure play park so your little ones can blow off some steam. With roundabouts, slides, shoots and climbing frames, that covered play area has everything your children LOVE. Situated near London Designer Outlet, it’s the perfect place to go between acts to keep your kiddies entertained and happy.
Like we said, International Busking Day is far more than just singers. Situated on the iconic Olympic Way, the Street Performance Stage has loads of acts all the family will love. From Dan Magness, the Guinness World Recording holding footballer freestyler, to Japan’s comedic duo Witty Look, your kids will LOVE the Street Performance Stage and all it has to offer. FAMILY FAVOURITE FOOD
No need to worry about your children getting hungry during International Busking Day. At Wembley Park we have LOADS of family favourite restaurants to enjoy. TGI Friday’s, Pizza Express, Moe’s Diner, Frankie and Benny’s – we have everything you could think of and more! We even have mouth-watering food from all over the world at Boxpark Wembley. No matter what the taste buds, we have somewhere for everyone. Check out all of our food and drink options here.
Join Wembley Park’s community for a street party, The Yellow Style. Situated near London Designer Outlet, The Yellow will be hosting their very own block party to celebrate the big day. Get on your feet and learn some new moves with salsa and hip hop workshops. Sit back and enjoy some epic guitar riffs, hula hoopers and MORE. Party with The Yellow and Brent’s hottest talent. Join them 13:00PM to 17:30PM.
If there is one thing every generation can agree on, it’s loving sweets. If want to treat for your kids (or even yourself, we don’t judge) head to the Haribo Outlet Shop in London Designer Outlet. As their first UK store, you’ll find a exclusive range of sweets and a special glimpse into the happy world of Haribo.
Some art your little ones are going to LOVE! Dotted all over Wembley Park, we have our amazingly colourful Massive Choon art installation. Hunt down the seven music inspired, interactive art pieces – your kids will love pretending to play the massive drums or sing into the huge microphone.
DINO PLAY PARK
Have a EGG-cellent day and visit the totally ROARsome Dino play park in The Splay on Market Square. The incredibly life-like Dinosaurs from Dinosaur World Live are taking a trip from the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre to pay a visit to all the intrepid explorers enjoying International Busking Day.
The pre-historic creatures will be stomping their way to Market Square at 3PM and then again at 6PM.
The Dino Play Park also features a fun and exciting game of EGG-nado and an amazing dino-themed photo booth.
