Yellow Pavilion’s upcycled garden

We’re in the process of giving the Yellow Pavilion’s external space a pre-spring makeover. We’re rearranging the plants, bushes and greenery into a layout inspired by the design of the 1924 British Empire Exhibition Map. We’ve taken planters upcycled from London 2012 and added reused turf to create a new social space for residents and workers of Wembley Park. All we need to add now is a bit of paint to reconnect to the strong grid as an evocation of the original site.

As spring approaches, we hope more of you will want to come and join the hardy few already eating their lunch at the picnic benches, taking a moment out of their day to enjoy Wembley Park’s open spaces and sense of calm.

Have a look at the photos below – and come down to our community engagement project’s temporary home, the Yellow Pavilion and check out the garden for yourself! Please Tweet us or message us on Facebook with your comments! @wembleypark #YellowPavilion.
